Experience

Ms. Wheeling brings 24 years of education experience, including more than two decades serving students at Daniel Morgan Middle School. She currently serves as Multi-Classroom Leader for middle school mathematics, where she coaches teachers, supports instructional improvement, and helps strengthen mathematics achievement across the school. Throughout her career, Wheeling has also served as a grade-level team leader, substitute assistant principal, PBIS team member, Culture and Climate Committee member, athletic director, and coach. Her experience as both a special education and mathematics teacher, combined with her long-standing commitment to student success, has made her a respected leader within the school community.

Education

Ms. Wheeling holds bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from Marshall University and a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Shenandoah University. She also holds Virginia endorsements in administration and supervision, elementary education, middle school mathematics, and special education.

 

Paul Cote

Experience

Mr. Cote joins the school's administrative team after serving as a school counselor at Daniel Morgan Middle School since 2023. In that role, he helped develop and implement the school's comprehensive counseling program, contributing to its nationally recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation while supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth. Before joining Daniel Morgan Middle School, Cote served as a school counselor at John Kerr Elementary School, where he led Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives and supported efforts to strengthen school climate and student success. His experience in restorative practices, crisis response, attendance improvement, MTSS, and collaborative leadership has prepared him well for this new role.

Education

Mr. Cote earned a bachelor's degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University, a Master of Education in Counseling from Providence College, and a postgraduate certificate in School Administration and Supervision from James Madison University.
